I am a tattoo artist based in the Netherlands, working with a structured, anatomy-based approach, with a strong focus on northern symbolic design.I create tattoos that are not just visual, but built with intention. Therefore, they are designed to last, both technically and conceptually.
My Work Begins Long Before the Skin
I have spent my life studying symbols. Over time, this has shaped my entire approach.
Not as decoration, but as traces — marks left by cultures that existed long before us.
From the Paleolithic to the Bronze and Iron Age, I have followed these signs across Europe, observing them where they were born: carved into stone, hidden in caves, preserved in archaeological remains.
I have travelled through Brittany, the British Isles, and beyond, not only to see these symbols, but to understand how they were made.
At the same time, I have continued studying through books, research, and constant drawing.
This is where my work begins.
My style is rooted in what I define as neo-symbolism: a contemporary visual language grounded in ancient traditions. I don’t reproduce existing symbols. I don’t work through imitation. Instead, I study the structures, logic, and principles behind ancient markings, and translate them into new, essential, and coherent forms — adapted to the body and to the individual.
The Mark as Structure, Not Decoration
For me, a mark is not just something visual. It is a structure. My early studies in physics and chemistry, comined with history comes from the same place: understanding how matter is built, how structures form, and how the invisible shapes what we can see.
This approach directly influences my work: balance between tension and space. Lines and dots are the foundation of everything — from prehistory to today.
