DARK ART • WEIRD BLACKWORK
The blackwork I create does not come from modern minimalism or social media trends.
Its roots go much deeper.
It comes from time-worn symbols, primitive engravings, ritual iconography, medieval illustrations, European folklore, and everything that, for centuries, has been used to represent fear, death, protection, transformation and the unknown.
Many of my works draw inspiration from:
- petroglyphs and ancient carvings
- Nordic and pagan symbolism
- medieval funerary art
- dark folklore and bestiaries
- distorted anatomies
- organic textures
- abstract marks and ritual signs
- contemporary dark illustration
- horror and post-industrial aesthetics
Weird blackwork exists exactly at the intersection of symbol, instinct and distortion.
It does not seek clean perfection shape. It seeks presence.
Bold lines, aggressive contrast, deep negative spaces, dense textures and forms that feel as if they emerged from something ancient or forgotten in the dark.
Every project is created to maintain visual weight, readability and character over time.
The dark aesthetic behind my work does not come from wanting to “look creepy” at all costs.
It comes from a fascination with what is archaic, occult, worn, symbolic and deeply human.
That is why I love creating images that feel as if they already carry a story within them.
